Vintage English Mid Century Schreiber Bookcase

This beautiful mid century bookcase was imported from England. It has three upper shelves, one of which has two sliding glass doors. The lower section has two cabinet doors. This bookcase was produced by Schreiber Furniture. The company was formed in 1957 and was one of the dominant furniture companies in England in the 1960's and early 1970's. The manufacturer's tag is on the inside of one cabinet door.

While this is a wonderful stand alone piece, it was probably part of at least a 3 piece set judging by the pre-drilled holes on each side which would allow it to hook on to other pieces. The bookcase is in excellent condition and the veneer is solid throughout. It appears as if it had a shelf inside the bottom cabinet at one time because there are holes for shelf tabs, but that shelf is no longer available. I believe this piece is all pressed wood underneath the veneer.

The vintage piece is 36" wide, 66.25" tall and 15.5" deep.
